This brochure provides background information on the linkages between ecosystem-based adaptation and mitigation measures. It aims to introduce experts, especially from the field of climate change, to the basic concepts of biodiversity, forest resilience and ecosystem-based adaptation. It also shows how the conservation and sustainable use of forest biodiversity can remedy forest degradation. It explains REDD-plus, partners and beneficiaries of REDD-plus efforts, and standards which can be applied to REDD-plus initiatives.
