Understanding Climate Change, Part 10, Low Carbon Development
This info-sheet explains the concept of low-carbon development, challenges and opportunities facing developing countries which pursue Low Carbon Development Strategies (LCDS). The info-sheet then explains in more detail Guyana's LCDS which is notable as it provides a framework for how interim payments and future REDD+ payments could be used to realign the country’s economy along a low carbon development trajectory and support efforts to adapt to the negative impacts of climate change.
