REDD+ may contribute more than just climate change mitigation. If REDD+ is implemented in key catchment areas, it can also contribute to restoration and sustenance of water flows in key catchments. This paper outlines the linkages between REDD+ and water resources management in East Africa, and suggests how the synergies between the two can be maximised.
