This report examines the emerging role of biomass energy as potential for green economies and climate change mitigation and adaptation in non-OECD countries. It suggests that a serious consideration of biomass development into national policies would contribute to rural employment, poverty reduction, incentives for sustainable forest management and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
